I'm gonna help a friend get a Z06 back on the road that's been stored for an extended time, with a battery tender.
Question:
When reconnecting the Z's battery, do I reconnect the battery BEFORE or AFTER disconnecting the tender. Thinking about throwing codes, etc. If the battery is not a "dual post" type, it may be a moot question.
It occurs to me now that I don't know if the Z's battery would have been disconnected during storage, or if the tender would typically be hooked up while the battery is still connected.
(In my area, we don't normally use tenders)
Further thoughts?

If the battery was removed, just disconnect the tender and install the battery. If the battery is still connected in the car, just disconnect the tender before you start the car.

Its a battery - just like any other car battery. If you are reinstalling it connect the positive terminal first, then the negative.
I used to disconnect my battery and then connect the Tender to it. All I did in the spring was reconnect it and start it up. The only issue is the radio. There will be a security code to get it working again.
For the last couple of years, I have just left the battery hooked up with the Tender attached to it. I am guessing that this is what you will find. If so, no issues at all.
Another thing I do at start up is to hold the gas pedal to the floor for a few seconds while turning the engine over. The car will not start when you do this and oil will be pumped throughout the engine. Then just take your foot off the gas and start the car as normal.
