you just cut the old one off and weld/clamp the new one on. i would just take it to a muffler shop, if you have to ask...you're probably going to have a tough time getting them welded on perfectly straight and even
I've just finished installing LT headers, catted x-pipe, and a Z06 Ti catback.
Although I like the round Ti tips better than the OEM ovals, I'd really prefer a beveled SS tip.
Has anyone changed out just their tips, and if so, how's it done?
Thanks!
I purchased a set of 4 just a few weeks ago from Mid America. They give you a couple of choices of different SS Tips. They fit right over the original pipes on my '99 and clamp on. They also provide SS Screws to hold them on after drilling a 1/8 hole in the pipes. You need a rubber mallet to tap them on. They seem secure just at that but I decided to use the SS Screws anyway. When you are done it looks like it was installed at the factory it looks that good.

Which ones did youo get?
Because this is about the only way to get different tips on the C5 Z06 TI exhaust!
If you have the part number I'd be interested I have ivestegated other ones but none that match up well enough to slip over and SS it into the already existing tip.
whatever you do, do not allow someone to cut those ti tips off thinking they can weld right up some replacement tips you like...........ti is a metal that is not easily welded and I doubt if there is muffler shop anywhere that can weld that stuff. .....if you can find some tips that will fit over your others is your best bet......and most muffler shops have a decent variety of tips......... you may be able to find some via a forum vendor as well.

Matt,
I am emailing you a couple of pictures right after this post. They are pictures from behind the car showing the new tips. I don't have any installation close-up pictures.
Those tips I think he is refering to are Corsa hot tips that fit over the early C5's that did not have chrome tips. You cannot bang them on a Z06 Ti system because the Ti's have a rolled tip. I am sure they will not work for you. There are plenty of people that can weld titanium, getting four tips perfectly straight is another story.

You are absolutely right that is what I purchased as I also mentioned the Mid America Part number 603-328 here in a earlier post. This is what they look like below on my C-5.
