Default Torque Wrench/Sockets

I saw some discussion on here reguarding a troque wrench. Seems I need one that is at least 25-100 ft/lbs, sounds like a good place is sears. What about a socket to removed the wheeel lugs. Where can I get one that will prevent marking them up?

Thin walled sockets are what I use on my IForged wheels

Keep in mind SEARS does not have a lifetime warranty on their torque wrenches! I ended up buying Husky wrenches from Home Depot because they do warrant them for life....and they are resonably priced.

You may want to get a couple to cover all bases....
This for tires (you need to go to 105 Ft/LB

and this for torque settings below 100

You could use the one for both but at the extreme ends they aren't as accurate..

You should get a 3/4" 6 point deep well socket for lug nuts. Get one that has the same drive size as the Torque wrench to avoid having to use adapters. Avoid the 12 point sockets as they do tend to mark the lug nut. I got my deep well at Sears. They do warranty the sockets and many other mechanics tools but not their Torque wrench apparently.

Don't flame me here but I went to Harbor Frieght and got the wrench and deepwell impact style sockets for about $50 total. It is an older style wrench, but I know they have been used for many many years.

I've got in/lbs and ft/lbs SEAR'S "click" torque wrenches that have served me well for many years. I built two Harley bikes, two frame off and one frame on modified tri five Chevy cars with them. (fyi, always store the wrench at the "0" setting).

I've got one cheap HARBOR FREIGHT wrench in/lbs that isn't worth a darn. I bought it only because I needed a short handle length for the Harley, but I used it for only one project. Otherwise, it sits in my tool chest.

Buy a good torque wrench and take care of it.

As far as sockets, find some with the nylon liners which will prevent marring of the lug nuts. Different styles can be found here...
