Had a great time last week at Carlisle! It was my first time there, and it was pretty overwelming in terms of you local car shows and exhibits.
Not too bad of a drive for us in north Jersey, approx. 3 1/2 hrs each way (did it all in one day, which of course was long). It was fairly hot and sunny, but that's what summer is all about, and better than the opposite!
Overwelming indeed. They announced it was the biggest draw ever for this event. And you kinda need more than a day to take it all in.
The best way I experienced Carlisle was to buy up Corvette parts all year long in DC/Md/Va and then sell em. Did that for like 10+ yrs while I lived in Md. One year I loaded a Vette frame and front 1/2 clip on top of my DD and promptly sold all. That was a sight to behold but I was determined. Another year I picked up a hardtop for a vert just over the PA state line and sold it the same day. Don't know how I got it in the trunk.
Always did the campout in a tent under shelter. Ground zero is the WTG. Good memories.
Yes it was a fun time and it was my first time also, me and my son that is. We were there Friday - Sunday and had a really good time. I would have liked to be only three hours away when it was time to go home, we drove 16 hours straight to get home....
It was my first time also. I knew it would be great, but it was way better. AND my car was in the Flag! The facility is great, the event was planned very well and all of the Corvette folks were very cool. I took my C5 but my goal is to have my C3 ready for the trip next year.
