F1's, hell no...for around the same price, Michellin PS 2's are the way to go. Best ll around astreet tire for this car, hands down...I run them and I've been very happy.
As for the shocks, it depends on your current ride height or future plans to lower. Stock to lowered on stock bolts, most go with C6Z shocks, or Bilstein Sports for a few bucks more. Lower than what you can obtain off the stock bolts, you really need to consider coilovers to keep the good ride and handling charactersitcs of this car. I'm lowered on stock bolts, and I'm leaning towards Pfadt inverted adjustable shocks...they're about three times the price of the C6Z shocks, but less than half the price of coilovers.
Fyi...forum member Gen Culley from GM Parts House sells a set of 4 C6Z shocks for about $240.
I've done a bunch of reading on the "shock" issue, and my mind is set. I'm going to get the Bilstein Sports (soon..... If I buy them then that's $300 OUT of the header/cats/tune fund). The C6Z shocks are supposed to be a great bang for the buck, but I've read that can make the car ride higher (false info?!?). Regardless, I have yet to read anything negative about the bilstein's, so that's what I'm doing.
In regards to the tires..... I don't have much to contribute. apologies.
for a C5Z06 the best opton IMO is the 2004 Z06 shocks. I also have heard nothing but good things about the Bilstein Sports. I got a great deal on a set of virtually new '04 shocks from a friend of mine who went to coil overs on his Z. They did make a difference in how the car handles and it doesn't "bump steer" anywhere near as much as before.
There are tons of tire threads here, just do a search!
Love my Invos, and they were very reasonably priced, too. Don't know about stock size availability, but there should be something close. I got Koni FSD shocks, and my car is fully lowered on stock bolts. If I had it to do over, I'd go with something cheaper. They're just not that impressive for the price. The bump steer was reduced, however.

Jimbo
I concur
I like Michelin PS-2s ($$$) or Nitto NT-05s (cheap!)

Unfortunately no...they have stock C5 sizes, but not for the Z. I would have most likely went for a set of those, but you can't fit 245 front and 275 rear on the stock Z rims.
I was also on the fence on those FSD's, but I think I'm going with the Pfadt inverted shocks. I'd love to go coilovers, but I think those are overkill for me. QA1 just came out with C5 coilovers for under $1300 which is promissing, but I'd like to see some user feedback before I bite the bullet.
Bilstein sports and Bridgestone RE11 - depending on your wheel size, that's what I went to with 18/19 inch wheels.
The PS2 are the benchmark for sure, but they're not the best tire in all catagories anymore, there are many that have better dry handling characteristics. Tire technology keeps changing, yes the PS2 has changed, but it's not a redesign like some of the new tires out there. Search for a Car and Driver High performance summer tire shoot out for some eye opening "facts".
I was going to go with the Invo's, but there are too many bad comments about soft sidewalls, and lack of response/feel.
