I can also supply anyone interested with the color combo necessary to set the LEDs on the Pioneer to match the factory light colors. I love the ability to tune those unit LEDS to anything. My wife hates aftermarket radio lights and was impressed with the factory look. That is saying a lot.
I did mine last year with a Kenwood and replaced the Bose speakers as well with Focals. It was a daunting job, but was well worth it in the end. Best mod to date.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the install, just since playing around with the radio yesterday it has slid way back in the mounting bracket.
I'm not really happy with the way the supplied L brackets are holding the radio, kind of a pretty serious design flaw when it comes to a radio you're going to be pushing on constantly touching it. I'll see if it slides back any further, if it does I'm 99.9% sure I'm going to have to disassemble everything again and custom fabricate some new brackets or somehow modify the ones I have so they won't allow the radio to slide.
Basically the bracket has a slide hole on it and it attaches to the radio with one bolt, which can be easily overtightened so I'm pretty confident it will continue to slide back, but we'll see.
I saw that others who have installed these made their own brackets and I probably should have followed their lead, especially since it was apart for enough time, live and learn I suppose.

hmm thats weird i used the same L-brackets from dennis and my radio sits perfectly and doesnt move at all...im using a kenwood unit and i tighten the bolts as tight as they could go...no stripping what-so-ever. ill post some pics up of my double din

Humm me too. My Pioneer DD is very solid with the same L brackets. Something must be wrong.
From what I can tell there were two versions of the L brackets as the ones I received are not like the ones pictured on the website. I can tell you one bolt holding a slide bracket in place isn't going to be a permanent thing. I'm going to use epoxy putty to keep it from sliding. I can only tell you my experience and observations. The screws for the radio supplied were SAE and the radio takes a metric screw also which caused a huge amount of stress during the install when I thought I stripped the radio out and figured out I needed to switch to the screws supplied with the Pioneer.
I have a new install underway and will be addressing some of the install issues during that time.
I have a new thread with the new painted leather bezel and will have updated pics in that thread.
