First....Welcome....second - you have a very sweet ride. Next -yes....the manual is your friend and will answer quite a bit. Don't beat yourself up......I could tell you stories of when I first got my C5.
Ya gotta love those shale interiors! I remember when I first got my vert I kept the manual in the bathroom. Read it all by in"stall"ment in less than two weeks.

if you have the memory package make sure you use the key fob #1 or #2 to match the memory buttons 1 or 2. some dummy i know didn't check that out till the seats acted like they had a mind of their own.:o

ha, i knew i couldn't be the only one. i grabbed a set of keys, unlocked the car with the remote, hop in and set my memory on #1 for me, stick the key in the ignition and the seat moves. i say what the... rehit the memory #1 and everything goes fine. then i stop and pull the key. didn't know about the easy exit feature either and the seat moves again. lock the car, come back later and hit the remote to unlock, hop in and the seat moves when i put the key in. not where i wanted it to be so i hit the #1 button again. i told my wife there must be something with the electronics in this car. then i was looking at the key fob and saw the big #2 on the back, looked at the other one and there was the big #1 on the back and i knew it was time to read the manual.
