Default Lowering pro's and con's

Okay guys lets have your opinions on lowering.....

I ask this as I have a 2000 FRC with C6 Z06 style wheels on it. The rears are 19x11's and the tire is pretty much even with the fender lip. If I lower the car, will I have issues with the tire hitting the fender ?

Your opinions......

the 11's will rub under heavy cornering if lowered all the way on stock bolts or even on lowering bolts, yoll be fine.

I have a 1999 FRC with ace slick z07's - 11" rear as well. I used a lowering kit for front and rear only because my front bolts were seized and needed to be replaced. I did not slam the car, but left around 1.5- 2" inch clearance front and back. Love the look/stance, and have no issues other than the need to pay close attention to inclines, and dips... but if you drive a vette you are going to do this anyway. Do a search on me, and there should be a picture of my car out there - should look the same as yours but in a faster color - pewter

I am also running 305 in rear with no issues.

Only difference is my rear tires are 325 30 19's.

Thanks, I am very pleased with the look, and how i turned out. It doesn't look slammed, but is much different than the stock ride height. 325's on the rear??? Hmmm... my 305's are a tight squeeze .. not sure how the 325's will work.

you will need to find an in ground alignment rack to straighten you up once you lower it. I found one here near Richmond (only one) and didn't take that into consideration prior to lowering. I used 01 z06 specs for alignment.

I believe if you lover on stock bolts you can only lower 1 in, With lowering bolts you can get a little more but there are only 3-4 in before you fit the pavement
