OK, I recently bought two "chrome" emblems...one for the front and one for the trunk. The front has a curve as we all know. My bodyshop who has done incredible work for me for 25+ years used a heat gun to try and mold it since it's plastic painted chrome. After and hour, we gave up trying to "mold" it.
Does anyone have any experience with this or advice???
Thanks,
Jeff
Are the emblems manufactured by GM? The front emblem has two feet that goes into holes through the body. With the feet and the tape on the back of the emblem it should curve just slightly.

No...it's after market and really looks great. It's plastic painted chrome but I've seen them on Vettes and a few eeeks ago there was a post here with pics. The CF member said he bought them on the auction site so I rushed to buy them. There is no way to mold them to shape unless somebody here has the answer.
Thanks
To bad the manufacturer doesn't produce them with the proper shape to fit the C5 they're intended to fit. Maybe they're made in an offshore country that doesn't know?
Trying to shape them after the fact might damage the chrome finish.
There were some metal emblems with real chrome offered on the big auction site a while back and they had the same problem. On the rear deck it fits fine and looks great. No pins for the front and do NOT have the proper curve to sit flat onto the nose. The corners stick up and they collect all sorts of wax and other trash if you do put them on. Attempts to bend the metal ones reslt in breaking the part. Several posts abou this about 6 months ago or so. Just another buyer beware situation.
As mentioned, The original are silver painted with two plastic prongs on them for alignment, Buy if your body shop can't get the front one to curve a little, sounds a little odd. But I'm not saying they didn't do exactly what is necessary. The curve at the front is (I'm guessing here) under thirty degrees, and I have to assume that your emblem started life as a stock emblem, which would make me think somethings wrong here. If their plastic, the materials properties would allow them to bend, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't ! Good luck.
