I believe all you have to do is remove the bottom support the radio sits on, Use tin snips and cut it out, Just do it neatly.
This picture shows both the radio and hvac supports removed, You only need to remove the top one.
The top bracket is the one you need to remove.

Go to the Audio Forum and you'll find a Sticky, which includes some good instructions regarding the process. Also, keep Dennis' phone number close by. I have had to contact him a number of times for follow up questions and he has always been very gracious and generous of his time.....especially when I'm asking some pretty basic questions.

Dennis is the MAN before, during and after a sale, he's always there for his customers.
He's so nice, the REFS took away the Lions win and gave it to his Bears today, LOL.

If your going to dremel it out or use any other kind of saw, make sure to cover the harness below as you will get metal shavings everywhere.

I would go ahead and cut both brackets out, makes it easier to run wires to the back of your unit; does not make any difference otherwise.
Oh yea, Dennis is THE MAN. I've installed a few Double din setups and have seen his work on the bezels.
