Coming home the other night I hit a cat.(55 mph) That big ol' 275 in front nailed it from head to tail. Could of took it right down the center but that picture of the fella who hit the dog (both airbags deployed) popped in my head, so I swerved to right (heck of an impact). I had choice words all the home fearing the damage(half mile from home). After checking, only the brake duct was knocked off- snap back on (aftermarket set up) My lucky night. Still going to get a wheel alignment. Cat wasn't as lucky. [IMG][/IMG]

I hit a raccoon doing 55 last year on a dark Nebraska county highway. When I saw it coming across the road, it looked big enough to mate with a Shetland pony. Hell of a "thunk" when I hit it but too dark to see any damage. Next morning, I checked the Vette for damage but the thing must have hit the front wheel and slid down the driver's side of the car. No damage, but raccoon hair must be a great substitute for a car wash. After a 3000 mile trip, that was the cleanest section of the Vette. Hell of a noise though!
Picture was from when I bought the car. My older brother passed away two years ago. He owned many corvettes ( My Mom took me to my first day of school (5 years old) in one his corvettes(1965 corvette). She had to sit on a pillow & used the under grip to park it (no power steering) I snapped a picture with plates from his truck on the car for her.
