I am planning a road trip to visit family in Lisle October 4th through the 14th. Trying to decide whether to take the 'Vette or another ride.
What are the chances of freezing weather or snow this early in the season in Chicago?

Default Chicago weather?

I have lived in Chicago for 40+ years & to the best of my knowledge, the weather here is VERY unpredictable.

The Lisle Arboretum is really nice as well as the Naperville river walk/downtown area. There is a train station in Lisle that will take you into downtown Chicago if you want-I wouldn't take the Vette into the city.

Thanks for the info. We always take my grandson (4 yrs old) to feed the ducks in Naperville and took the train into town earlier this year when we visited. Took the usual pics at The Bean and other tourist stuff.

My son is running the Chicago Marathon on Oct. 10th.

When visiting in the summer months I like to go to the Downers Grove weekly car shows and visit the exotic car dealers just past Downers Grove.

Chicago is a neat place with a lot to do, but too cold for me after Thanksgiving.

Quickdraw, have your son take you to the tilted kilt while in town, it is literally walking distance, from four lakes. It's in woodridge on rt53. It's definitely a guys hang out for beers and food. Here's a sneak preview of the waitstaff.

I had a condo at 4 lakes. What a great place, I loved it. Right on one of the lakes with floor to ceiling 20' long glass W/balcony.
A ski lodge/ beautiful view, live bands on the weekend. I lived right across the street from the bar/lodge. I intentionally moved to that location so I could take in the night life and no risk of driving after drinking. I guess the only problem I could run into would be walking while under the influense.

Great looking Magnetic Red Coupe. One of my favorite colors! Love the hood, body panels, and wheels.

You may have met my son, Jason Gabel. He frequents the bar, plays volleyball, and skis there.
