when i went into garage today there was a puddle under c5 . it appears to be water [about a cup or so ] . it is odorless ,colorless , and doesn't feel oily . looking under hood shows no wet spot . it appears to be coming from a small canister , about 6'' long and 3'' or 4'' in diameter which is located in exhaust system on bottom right side of car about at rear of engine . last time i worked on cars there was exhaust manifold , exhaust pipe , muffler , and tail pipe , i haven't a clue what all this stuff is on them now so can't name canister which i described . can car be driven , should i panic , HELP!!!!!!! by the way , car has been setting for about 10 days . i wondered if it may be from air conditioner but highly doubt that . .. thanks and peace
Sounds to me like you are discribing the catalytic converter. Does the car sit outside at all? did you drive it in the rain? Did you just wash it when you put it away?
Im wondering if your A/C drain line is clogged up and it finally drained all the way out or if your utters are clogged up.

I usually see a small puddle under mine, at the point where the X-pipe comes out the hi-flow cats, these are LG Headers, and normal condensation I understand, but, your's seems a bit larger.
Are you running OEM exhaust manifolds, or headers?

The only clear liquid that comes out of these things is A/C condenstion.....after driving home in the afternoon, I have condensation from the A/C thats well in excess of a cup. Clean brake fluid looks like water but you would know the diff. Wiper fluid if you are using water. That about it.
air conditioning condensation is my first guess but car had been sitting for 10 days since last driven . exhaust thingy doesn't feel wet on top but definitely wet on bottom . i wondered if there could be condensation in exhaust thingy [or pipe] and it just completed forming tiny hole and was letting the condensation drip now . forgot to mention water doesn't seem dirty . ET what's the answer ??

I have two cars, a 2003 Corvette & a 2002 Chevrolet sedan as my DD. The odd thing is the 2003 when it's runnning with the A/C on it pours water or condensation out on the floor. But that little Cavalier blows ice cold air so good you could keep a dozen eggs on the dashboard, but it drips only a tiny amount of water or condensation. Two crs and two ways the A/C operates.
