Throwing the idea around of swapping out the stock cd hu for a nav, as it is a little bit cheaper then moving into a C6 plus I think the C5 looks better
Could you post some pictures of your nav install with technical data, any issues or what you should have done after the fact?
I have searched the forum for C5 nav install`s and they are all over in different threads so maybe we can put all this in one place.
Thanks
I have a new Kenwood 7" touch screen single din system with Garmin Navigation that I bought from one of the supporting vendors, Dennis at DD. If you contact him he can supply everything you would need along with the technical install answers.
Kenwood equipment I installed in April and I have to say I love it:
Kenwood KVT-516 Head Unit
Kenwood/Garmin KNA G610 Navigation
Kenwood KCA-BT300 Hands Free Bluetooth
Kenwood KNA-NT100 Traffic receiver
This photo show the new unit installed in both open and closed views along with my old Garmin 885T next to it to show the size difference. The photos in the passenger footwell area show the G610 Nav unit that allows the updating of maps, custom POI's and software using a SD card.
Double Din Bezel from DD Mods, Kenwood 5120 touch screen w/AM\FM, DVD, XM Radio, Garmin Nav, Ipod Hookup, Bluetooth, Rear View Camera.......One of the best mods I've had done.
Chrome Rear Camera Frame........

I have been on your web page c5 BearsFan and confused at what I should get, need, etc. I don`t want to cheap out nor break the bank. Curious as to what package options are available with sending in my own bezel to be modded to accept a double din nav unit?

Dennis can price it to you either as a single or double din and with both they offer similar options and features.
Just ask Dennis to price it both ways with the options you want. The single din system will cost less and is easier and quicker to install but both ways have their advantages and disadvantages.
Either way Dennis is the man that can make it all happen and to fit your budget.
There is a C5 sticky at the top that is particularly usefull. I posted my install there along with some ideas (couple pages from the end). I got my DD bezel from Dennis and purchased a Kenwood head unit for a couple of reasons. the most important to me is that it uses the Garmin Nav system which I am quite comfortable with. Also, boot-up time seems quicker than most of the competition (at least when I did my install). I added the Ipod interface and now have direct access to thousands of songs. I removed the 12 disk player since it was just taking up space. I also dumped the Bose speakers and replaced them with Focals. I was looking for crisp, clear sound and now I have it. I did not install an amp or subs. I have no problem hearing the system with the roof off at highway speeds. Finally I also included bluetooth so I can use my phone hands free.
This is easily the best upgrade I have made to my car. Good luck with yours.

The old Rand McNally map.....now those were the days. I can remember looking at the magazine racks and checking the latest editions. Come to think of it, they still have them. Remember trying to find your current location driving and thumbing through the pages or folding the map to show the route you needed to follow?
These things will pass, as technology improves. Soon your children will be laughing at seeing a real printed map or Rand McNally.
Much like squating over the dirt and drawing out directions with a stick.

I remember my dad had one of those huge Rand McNally books with every map of each city/state. I also remember those really big and hard to fold gas station maps and laughing while my mom, riding shotgun, tried to fold it back together again.
