Help,
I have a 1997 C5 and I backed out the driveway and when I went to put in drive nothing happened, It will lock in to park position & It will lock in drive, but it is real loose , but when I start the engine and put in gear nothing happens, does anyone has a idea if it's the shift **** linkage connection or the cable. I can push the car when it is any position on the shift ****, I think the cable broke while it was in neutral.

You're going to need to get her off the ground and check out the cable. I'm not a trans expert but if it won't lock into gear and you're feeling it sloppy in drive then the cable is a good place to start. Did you post in the Tech Forum?
