Rattle noise from the engine

I have a rattle noise from the engine when I push the gas pedal a little bit while driving, (so little that the car does´t accelerate).
I also have the sound when I´m in neutral and revving up to about 1200 rmp.

Doest anybody have a clue on what it can be?

The car is an C5 -01 A4 whit 22500Mi on the odometer

You might want to make this into a video file and post it on YouTube. Myself, I will never download an unknown file from a brand new member. Too much risk of a virus.

That being said, what you are describing sounds like valvetrain noise.

Its a .3gp file, you open it with Quicktime or you can click on "View on Megavideo" to view the film online then you don´t need to download anything.

Defnitely a bad muffler bearing. Get it checked right away.

hard to tell from the sound quality....but it could be a spark plug backing out. I would check to make sure they are all tight.

Heres 2 options

Have you had a significant other in the drivers seat running the RPM while you are poking around(carefully) under the hood trying to locate the source of said noise?

Or........ as I usually do wait until it gets really bad and breaks and then its a "no brainer" as to what's the noise source!

A theory from another forum says that it could be the timing chain?

Could it be bad after 22500 Mi?

Does someone know if there is a "quality problem" whit the timing chain on these engines?
