Ok either someone will know exactly what i am talking about or you all will think im crazy. I really like the simplicity and classiness of my stock 2001 painted aluminum wheels. But I just wish they had more bling to them. So here is my question, has any one done, know aboout, or know someone who has had thier painted aluminum wheels polished out?
If possible, does the cost balance out vs new ?
I offer Boze Forged and Ze Forged and can get you a high luster polish. wheels are custom made to your specs www.bozeforged.com
here is my 3 pc Boze ZE Forged 3pc Tach wheels when they arrived
mine are hi luster polished with a ceramic clear coat over them. All i do is wipe them down.
Available in 2 pc and 3 pc depending on size requested
Depending on the finish that is under the paint you may not have to do much polishing.
I actually have started to strip and polish my thin spokes because they had some pitting issues, its a lot of work to do it if you sand but not so much if you just use aircraft remover to strip the finish and use something like mothers mag polish to get an awesome shine. I am also using a buffing wheel to take out some of the scratches that are in the wheel from the sanding.
One huge benefit I have found of striping it down to bare aluminum is brake dust does not stick to the wheel very well at all so you basically just hose it off.
But if you do it your self you are looking at several hours for each wheel.
There have been some posts here in the past where members have stripped and polished them,,,and they looked awesome!! Not sure,,but I think Patches might be one of them!! I know he polishes everything else!!
