I'm considering going after an OBX catback, as it appears from a vendor that they have fixed their fitment issues... fitment aside, does anyone have any experience with this exhaust? It looks to be a copycat of the Borlas, GHL, etc. and I'm wondering how the sound compares? Both quality and noise level? All the threads on this exhaust seem to be old and outdated....
I ordered this exhaust last friday... hopefully i'll get it this week and will be able to take advantage of the great weather that's expected for this weekend!
I am just looking at these systems, how do ya like it? How was insatll?
coming from me who sold these to Brent
you dont want them
Brent is having fitment issues and OBX are complete idiots and dont understand whats going on. Brent has been great in working with this and besides the fact the OBX goofballs changed the exhaust tips and the fitment issue he loves the sound of the exhuast and says its to bad they didnt get the fitment right.
Brent likes the sound so much we are wrking on taking it to a shop to correct the fitment issues
now i just need to get it through the heads of OBX that they needs to send the correct tips for the catback.
If you want to spend 470.00 and have some fitment issues and want to correct them its a nice sounding exhaust
my input is go with something else like the SLP stuff i have for 719.99 shipped! Yea its more but perfect fitment and no issues
the headers have been ok from OBX and I have no complaints really about them
the catback i will not offer anymore to anyone via my website
hope this helps and gives you an honest input from me who sells them
I put a set on mine last winter. No problem at all with fit. Just had my wife stand way back and guide me as I tightened it all up. Sound I think is one of the best. No drone except on interstate going up hill and that can be controled by your foot, but I kind of like it sometimes. Looks good from the rear also. And did I mention the price is right.

How many vendors you know, are going to give you that honest of an answer? Way to go Dennis!
I'm extremely happy with the sound of the exhaust... best i've ever heard honestly... very DEEP tone, not shrill, not raspy... its fairly loud at idle, medium at cruise with no drone at all, and pissed off loud at WOT.... this is on a car with TSP LT headers, TSP catless O/R x-pipe, 228R cam, 3600 stall, and 3.73 gear RPM rear end...
Like Dennis alluded to, the fitment is AWFUL, and OBX has been miserable to deal with for Dennis and I. I would not suggest purchasing this off them... Also, as he said, i'm probably going to be having the exhaust fixed, and a decent set of tips put on it... the tips are the worst part... they are so bent, so crooked, i don't know how anyone could possibly look at these and think they were OK... its embarrassing to drive around with these tips, but because of OBX, i'm stuck with them.... I have another set of 4" tips, but the 4"ers are a little bit big, so i'm not sure what i wanna do....
I would suggest going with something different, unless you are prepared to make some fixes to the 90* bends, and prepared to get tips different than the ones advertised by OBX.... It still amazes me that they advertise the wrong product, without a disclaimer that the exhaust comes with different tips....
