headlamp motor question
can anyone tell me what tells the headlamp motors to stop after the door opens or closes ? i took the passenger side motor apart and found the plastic gear was stripped by the worm gear. after the door on it closed you can hear the worm gear continueing to run and tearing that plastic gear up. thanx for any info you can give me on this subject

The motor hits a stop, tries to keep running for a moment until it sense the resistance, then shuts the motor off.
Look in the tech section in the sticky, and you'll find the fix for the motor.
