Default Shocks for C5

Hey guys...I have an 01 stock C5 w/ 116k miles. It's time to get some new shocks(front & rear). What do you recommend and what kind of price am I looking at?

Thanks in advance!

C6Z06 shocks available from a couple of Forum Vendors for under $250 for all 4 plus shipping. They are bolt in compatible unless you have the F45 system. Then you need either resistors/simulators or to disable the F45 option. The shocks still bolt in but the F45 system will limit the speed to 80mph unless you take those actions.

The C6Z06 shocks are a good choice. Others here opt to go with Bilsteins.

I tried to get a set of the C6 Z06 shocks last summer but they were on backorder.

They were about $240 a set back then, a good price and have good reviews.

I ended up with Bilstein Heavy Duty's for $300, happy with them as my car is my DD and the car rides and handles very well. I'll get them again when/if the time comes.

Huge difference in how car feels and handles. No more bump steer with these.

Good ones mentioned and another good option that I have on our C6 are the Koni FSDs

If you get the Bilstien sports (which I have and recommend), make sure you are not running runflats or the ride will be pretty harsh. I already had non runflats when I installed my bilstiens and it took me a little while to adjust to the firmer ride, but the handling with the C6 Z51 sways and bilstiens is fantastic.

Bilstein HD shocks. The sport are a little stiff (for me anyways).
You can find them in the $300-325 range for all four.
