I embarked on a two week trip from the NC coast to Kansas City, Kansas, & back through Ohio to attend two reunions. I spent a full day in Bowling Green on the way out, and toured both the assembly plant and the museum.
My personal opinion is that while the museum was really cool, it pales in comparison to the assembly plant tour. The plant was simply awesome. Both are well worth the trip, as was the museum gift shop. While at the museum I did get the build sheet for my car.
Welcome back home, sounds like your trip went well. Agree with the BG visits. Have made 3 trips there and the plant tour never fails to be the highlight.

I liked it so much that I seriously considered going through the plant tour a second time.

Glad you had a good time. I agree that the plant tour is awesome - you see something different about the process used to build the cars every time you go there it seems.
The one thing that impressed me was that the majority of the workers in the plant seemed to be enjoying what they were doing there, and they were very nice to those of us on the tour. Years ago I used to give tours of our Maintenance Battalion and component rebuild facility at Camp Lejeune to VIPs, so I know how painfully disruptive this can be.
I had a great discussion with one of the plant engineers about the C5 and the 50th Anniversary cars. He was talking to one of the other people in my tour group, and mentioned that his all time favorite Corvette that they did was the 50th Anniversary Edition Convertible. When I heard that, I pulled my key out of my pocket, held it up and said, "it's outside." He wanted to know all about the car, and seemed genuinely interested. It was a great experience.
I was there last week as well and I thought the factory tour was really very cool, we even got to look over a ZR1 for export that has the euro rear lights but also lights on the mirrors and a couple of additional features.
I've taken the tour twice and it gets better each time. It makes you salivate to watch these works of art being created right before your eyes. Fortunately for me I only live about 90 miles from the factory so it's an easy trip.
I took the tour but I had to park on the other side of the parking lot w/the rental. That sux. I felt like telling other vette owners parking "No really my other car is a corvette"
I didn't know you could get a build sheet for your car from them? Is this true?
