I was on one of the numerous SS brake line deal pages last week and someone put up a good link to step-by-step install guide some forum member had made. I have searched high and low and can't seem to find it, Anyone willing to help me out with that link?
My concerns were bleed order and how much fluid I needed to make sure I got all the fluid changed in the system.
He has the bleed order in there, but not the amount of fluid. FWIW, when I flushed mine it took about 2.5 of the small bottles of Prestone DOT4 (forget the size). I've heard some people say it takes more.
Hi Tyler.
This is how you do a search, to find out your question on regards to install of SS brake lines.
Click onto the tech section.
Then on the top right of page you will click onto Search this thread.
Type into the white box that will appear, (Type In) = SS brake line install. Then click where it says GO.
Numerous posts will appear. I suggest reading the one by Torque.
Good luck.

Thanks for the help everyone and Torque for a great write up.
The owner of a corvette shop I went to told me not to switch to DOT 4 b/c of abs module issues, however it seems to be all they sell on any website and quite commom on the fourm. Was he wrong? Has anyone had any issues with going to motul 600 or like product? Clearly it's going to mix to some degree with the old stuff during the bleeding process.
In regards to the use of DOT 4 brake fluid. iIve been using Prestone Syn Dot 4 in both the clutch & brake resivoirs for a quite few years now.. Of course that doesn't make it right.
Same here... I've used Prestone DOT 4 in my cars for as long as I can remember, without any issues. Everything I've read [so far] says using DOT 4 won't cause any problems, but I have heard a couple people mention not to. As far as I know, DOT 5 is the one you shouldn't use due to ABS issues.
Castrol GT(LMA)...Synthetic fluid that exceeds Dot 3 and 4 requirements, and the LMA stands for Low Moisture Activity. Also hear good things about Amsoils brake fluid.
