I busted the cone in my JL Audio W3-D2 10". So I bought a used MTX-5500(http://forums.corvetteforum.com/audi...ofer-60-a.html). Sub is mounted in custom enclosure. Amp is JL Audio 500/5. I hooked to "+" wire to the "+" terminal and the other wire to the "-" terminal. How can I test to see if amp is working for sub out? Is there a way to test sub itself? Other speakers appear to be routed thru amp and they work, just not the sub. Sub was working before getting busted. Let me know if you need any more info.
BTW - W3 sub had an extra jumper wire running from one of "+" terms to "-". TIA.

take the sub out or take speker wires and then
take a 9 volt battery
touch the pos wire to pos neg to neg on battery
sub will jump if its good.
If it doesnt .
the sub is more than likely no good
Will try. Thanks. I actually sent you a pm about buying the T3, but never hear back so I just bought this used one instead. It is probably an issue with something I've done. But, even if it is bad I am only out $60 and some hair pulling.
