Guys,
Can any of you recommend a seat repair patch kit to repair a rip/hole in my seat?

Thanks

Default seat repair

Well you don't say whether it's vinyl or leather, But I would go to harbor freight store and get a miniature set of off-set pliers and a tupe of good brand of super glue, and try as best as you can, holding the two edges of a spot a little way from the center of the tear, and keep at this procedure tilll the tear is glue/stiched together.

Or you could use a upholsters needle and use some neutral colored nylon thread and in conjunction with the super glue to effect a repair. I've done this in the past, and while it works well, it is noticable. Good luck !

I have never seen a patch kit that was worth the $. The repair looks like Git. I would take it to a auto upholstery shop and have it repaired right.

its at the left hand corner of the seat where the back meets the seat. its about one inch by one inch. I have some black tape covering it for now, and it dont look too bad. For a car with 103k miles, i should be lucky thats the only problem with the seats.

ok can't help you, that part is damaged....I was gonna send you a piece if it was an area we had that was good. Just replaced the black seats in her 02 and some of the pieces were good enough for something like that.

You probably need new foams etc anyway with 103K I know mine were shot well before 100K and I was glad when I replaced them....hers has 106K now too...

Foams are actually in real good shape. If the odometer didnt say 103k you would never know it.

Default Go to your local bar....

and ask them who repairs their upholstered seats when they need it. There are companies who repair cracks and holes in vinyl or leather and if they are good you cannot see where the repairs are.

If it is at a seam then you should be able to have that restitched and it would look just i fine. Where as with mine I have a hole in the bottom of the seat so I am most likely going to have to buy an entire set because if I get just one strip replaced it wont match up just right, at least what they have showed me at the shops that I have taken it too.
