Maybe I missed something in the thread, but where are you and what are you getting for $25grr. I must be in the wrong side of the world most I've seen in that range are high miles or have needs. Good luck to you though hoping you get what you want. I would agree as next spring comes prices go up.

Personally I do not like the C6. The exotic look? Their is nothing exotic about the C6. IMO the inside of the C6 looks very cheap. I prefer the C5 look over the C6. Also the C5 gets a lot of looks and most people think they are still brand new.

If you’re looking at Horse Power the C6 is the way to go (STOCK wise). Overall performance the Z06 is unmatched.

It really sounds like you want the C6 over the C5.

You really do not need people telling you which one to buy. You do have a BMW 330, a Bike and a house that coast $150,000.... You do not need us giving our 2 cents... (Even though we still do it anyways)

You have til March so see what's available. I'd find an example of both when you are ready and test drive them. See what speaks to you the best. 2005-06's with Nav and all the goodies can be hard to find sometimes. You can get a Nav system in the C5 by getting a double din mod and it will look just as sharp as a C6.

Best of luck.

for $25k you are not going to get an LS3 -or a C6-Z..... the C5 Z is a stronger runner than the LS2. I'd just get the lowest mileage, best condition you can for the money - unless the removable top is the issue.

Did I read that correctly???

C6 = looks??????

Unless you are talking C6Z06, their "looks" don't even compare to the lines and looks of a C5Z.

Here is the correction:

C6 = newer, uglier

C5Z = looks

Default Specs

If you want to talk about specs alone even though you are looking at around 405hp stock with the c5 z06 and around 430hp with the C6 your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are still quicker with the c5 z06. Talking both stock of course as well as assuming the same driver is driving both vehicles.

C6 . It has a lot of little kinks worked out. Like you rarely hear the C6 guys bitching about paying $600 to have the security module replaced in the steering column.

Ask the exact same question in the C6 forum.

All I can say is I've owned over a 100 cars/trucks in my many years and have NEVER asked someone else what I should buy. I always figured two things, (1) it's my money, I should spend it on what I want, and (2) how can others really know what car I want? Just sayin----

PS STOLEN--what happened to having to wait till March so the banker can " form my credit to the exact number he wants"?

I'd get the C6 if I was you.

I like the looks.
It's the latest and greatest
Pushbutton start
cool electronic door handles
G-meter in the HUD
better quality interior
more horsepower
better brakes

I have a C5 because at the time I bought it it was all I could afford that met my standards of being a MN6 convertible and having under 25,000 miles on it.

I'd have a C6 if I could afford the one I want.

I beg to differ on the better quality interior of the c6 they look cheap like somthing you would find in a cobalt honestly I think a cobalts interior looks better since they don't have a $60,000 price tag brand new

I total agree

When people talk about the C6 like it is the greatest thing around it will have more long term issues than the C5. How much is it to replace the push start button? The only thing i like about the C6 is that it is a Corvette Yes I can afford a C6 if anyone wondering.

C6 and get 400 (LS2) or 430 (LS3) hp. No brainer for me.

[QUOTE=PS STOLEN--what happened to having to wait till March so the banker can " form my credit to the exact number he wants"?[/QUOTE]

i found a car that was priced very well.....just threw out a number to him to see if i could get financed....and i did....int rate was higher than i expected, so i will still be waiting till march...pay off a couple more things and get everything where it needs to be

drove my friends 02 C5 Z last night and loved it...i can also see where someone would think the interior in the c6 looks cheap.....they are kind of forcing you to overlook it with things like nav, push button start and doors..

and maybe if i had money enough to own over 100 cars/trucks in 29 years, i wouldnt ask.....but i dont have time to get something thats not what i want then make a pmt for 5 more years, or throw money away taking a hit to just get rid of it and buy what i should have bought in the first place by asking some questions....so reason for that is because YOU guys have these cars and can point out things i would never notice by just driving a friends car around the block

thanks

I would never trade my Z for anything other than a C6 Z06 but as others have said, get what you want, it's your money.
