Looking to change out the stock bulbs to 8000K HID's (or 10000K)- anyone tell me how much better (or brighter) the HID's are over stock. Are they worth the $?
8000k are too blue and the 10000k are too purple. I have 6000k HID's on my lows and fogs, and they are great for the price. Most everybody on the forum with HIDs have 6k bulbs on their low beams.

Think the blue tint would look odd on my EB coupe?
Can you tell a big difference in stock and your 6000K's?

8000k or 10000K you have got to be kidding, In my opinion that would look like crap.
Not only will they be blue to purple you will have less useable light than stock...
This might help.
I have both 4300 ACA lows and fogs. Very bright, crisp white in color. No yellow at all. Amazing how well the road now lights up!
Look at true HID projector options. HID bulbs in stock OEM halogen housings will just blast light everywhere and cause an illegal driving hazard.
your fogs are not 4300k. it's plainly obvious from your pics that the fogs have a much more blue tint than the low beams do.
i've been there and done that with the fog bulbs not being the color they were advertised so i ended up changing my low beams to match the fogs a long time ago.
any yes, 4300k is quite yellow. this was an "in the beam" shot of my stock 4300k ACA lows before i changed it to 6000k. also shown are the "4300k" fogs.
and this was also an "in the beam" shot of the lows after switching to 6000k...now an identical match to the "4300k" fogs.
I took these videos this year I think. I went out with the friends, and when I was heading home it started to snow. This is how 6000k HIDs look from inside the car. I had my fogs off at the time. Oh yeah, don't mind the sub making noise haha.
You can see the snow drifting in this picture against my baby at the very beggining of the short video.
On this video on or about second number nine you can see how much further my lights shine compared to the car comming towards me.

Oh yes I can tell a BIG difference between my stock bulbs and HIDs. I had the "SILVERSTAR" bulbs in the car before I decided to go the HID route. They are so bright that your stock high beams are dim compared to the HID's low beam.
6000K is the way to go. And yes, its worth every penny. cant go wrong buying from JW, he is the best!

I went this same route as well. The silverstars did make an improvement over the stock bulbs, but the ACA HID's with 6000K bulbs bring the car into the 21st century. They also look pretty sweet too.
