Default Need Your Help Please.

I am in need to change the map lights in my auto dimming mirror and I for the life of me can't figure out how to get to the bulbs. I tried to pop the lens cover off, But no go.
Anyone know who to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Can you loosen the mirror from the lug at is glued to the windshield ? I'm willing to bet once you have it upside down, you'll see whats holding it in place. You, ll have to go to Radio Shack for that bulb. Hope I can be a help.

Bill,

The lens covers do indeed pop off, after they are off you can get to the LED arrays. Becareful to remember (or mark them) how they are oriented and which one goes to which side!!!!! The LED PCBs have a small wiring harness that connects to them.

Now, Do you have OEM boards to replace them with or are you soldering in new LEDs? The OEM LEDs are a mix of turqouse and orange I think...

If you have any doubts or questions PM me...

More info please? I'd like to do the same. Can it be done with Eletrochromatic mirrors?

I guess I am stuck with the LEDs. Mine have blue and yellow leds in them.

We are talking about the Electrochromatic Mirror not the Base mirror, it uses a 211-2 Festoon bulb... I take it you want to change the color of the LEDs?

To change the color you merely swap out the LEDs, now the tricky part is that if you want White, Blue or Green you have to modify the board so that all of the LEDs light up at full brightness. Red, Orange or Yellow can be done as a one for one swap without any problems... the post above referenced by BigTattooMan illustrates that.

Here's Carlton's site on doing it...
