Any of you guys lower your Z's more than what the factory adjustment allows? What are you using? Is it compromising performance at all?
I don't know why this sports car has such a huge gap?? I prefer not to get aftermarket wheels and the gap is starting to bug, but I don't want to lose performance.
I lowered my Z much lower than what the factory bushings will allow...no problems here !
Check around thought to make sure you wanna go that low cause i know some streets and driveways can be tough on your front lower plastic valance...but ohh well...:smash: HAMMER IT ! :smash:
( racer44 ) has his car lowered than most of the guys as well...as him if he has had any problems
Chopped the bushings on mine. I've heard a lot of people complain about undue harshness, but I think it is fine. Like Keith said, lowering can be hard on the plastic airdam, but who cares, they're cheap and it's worth it.
Last few posts by you on this subject, you wanted to lower, and then did, and went too low, and then said you were going back up to stock, and then.. Well, I lost track at that point. LOL I thought your car looked GREAT slammed, but didn't know if you were going to keep it that way.
Mine is low, after doing a bunch of little things to tweak it, I am very happy with it and it looks great. Email me for info. superchargedvette@shaw.ca
ZR-1s also came from the factory standing pretty tall off their tires. Coil overs really allow you to plant the thing down where it belongs. The Z06 looks especially tough when lowered juuuust right.
Your guys' cars look sweet, lowering it makes all the difference.
Anyone looked into doing coilovers for the Z??
Thanks again,
Mike
I think a couple of guys have but it is like $1800.00  Personally, why would I pay 1800 to get the same look I have now. I don't auto cross my car or anything, it still goes around corners faster than it is supposed to like it is on rails, and the ride is fine. For me 1800.00 will go into something else.
Can you guys tell me the height of your wheel wells (the highest points of the arch, over the center of the wheels) off the ground, front and rear? Your cars look great in your pictures -- I'd just like to know how far off I am from you guys with only the first round of the front bushing cut out (and longer bolts in the rear). I'd like to drop the car another 1/4", and would like to know where that puts me compared to your cars.
Also, any rocker protection for you guys? I've changed my driving to keep the nose from hitting anything, but am concerned now about the rockers (and crowns in the road). Any issues with rocker contact yet?
My fronts are at 25 13/16 and my rears are 26 1/4, i can go lower on the back some more but this is about as low as I dare go, even with the rollers and protectors I make. I took my car out today for the first time since November, I was very happy with the ride and I now have no bottoming out of the shocks at all, after doing some free mods on the rear shocks.
