Missing dash knob needed???

Missing dash **** needed???
Hi
Today while l was driving into the sun l noticed a reflection on my wind shield of the upper dash where the vent is (12") and on both sides is l believe a rubber gasket that holds the grill in place.
The problem is that one is missing and l searched the entire car but couldn't find it.
My guess would be the dealer is the best place to go but l don't have a clue what it attaches to???
While l played with the other one on the other side, l couldn't figure how
it comes off!
I thought l better ask first before l cause a further problem.

Do you mean the little black button/**** looking thing on the passenger side of the defroster vent?
That's the sun temp sensor,part of the HVAC system-there's a matching hole on the drivers side of the defroster vent,but nothing goes in that one.
If that's not what you mean,then I don't know what you're referring to .
