I have a 98 w/65M miles. Have taken it to an A/C guy 2 months ago who found nothing wrong and just added a small amount of freon. problem is the driver side vents do not put out the A/C, but on the passenger side it is coming out icy. And no i do not have the driver side temp turned up. Since both sides can operate somewhat independently it appears there is a problem with the driver side control?
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
After the freon was added both sides worked fine. But now is not working correct. I thought I may just have a leak (although A/C guy could not find one) but now think it may be something else, since the passenger side still works.
Ideas?

All the time.Any Dic codes? I've been dealing with this the last 2 months and finally have it fixed. If no codes, have the freon level checked, if low, put some dye in it. My problem that could not be easily found was the ac line where the heat insulation is. It was leaking under the insulation so it was not easily seen. We finally cut a section to see inside and it was covered in the dye and oil. If you have a leak, it would cause this senario, otherwise check you DIC for codes. Also, have your AC guy pull a vacumm on the system and see if it holds if all else is good.
