Mine was in the area with the tire pump container... right side in the trunk. It was laying loose in there. It took me a while to find it too.

Should be in a plastic bag that should also contain a card to buy a replacement if this one is lost! The card has the key code on it! I am suprised the dealer did not either show it to you or hand it to you! If new, I'd call them (dealer) quickly.

For Z06s, standing at the rear of the car, lift the carpet between the left storage bin and the middle storage bin. There is a depression there that stores the key.
