Default Help with Vararam

I have the VR2b and I can't seem to get the setup to look right. I have posted a picture. This seems like the only way it will fit. Otherwise the hose in between the filter and power duct will not fit. Anyone have any pointers or have been there done that?

Do you have the instructions? I followed the printed directions and it fit great. Yours is not correct.

The printed directions I got were actually the directions to place the MAF in between the powerduct and filter which doesn't provide a clean enough read for my vehicle. So, I relocated it closer to the throttle body but don't have any instructions. Do you have a link?

i went back to look at my install. The picture you posted shows two red connections one inside the other. The middle screw clamp goes over the larger outside and not on the inner red connection.

place the MAF in theTB end of the power duct. your larger/outer silicone coupler appears a tad short. mine fit completely over the smaller diameter coupler on the MAF and butted up against the MAF, so to speak, so the smaller coupler was not exposed. looks much cleaner. otherwise your installation appears to be correct/functional, just not aesthetically pleasing. a longer outer coupler would really "clean" it up.

Yeah. I think the larger red silicone hose is too short at the throttle body.

If I remember it correctly, you have to attached the Maf end first then pull up the intake to fit it correctly. I don't think they sent you a "short" hose.

My install ( one person) was about 2.5hrs for both.I also put in the Halltech Honeycomb MAF screen to straighten out the additional air.

Looks like this on my 02Z.

I think you need to adjust the lower end near the filter housing to position the duct closer to the throttle body.

Default Thanks!

Hey guys thanks for all the pointers on this one. I found out that the installers of this did indeed cut the rubber to fit originally with the maf in between the filter and powerduct and not closer to the throttle body. Ordered another piece of rubber hose today.
