CORVETTE magazine Coilover vs. Leaf Spring Article
Just wanted to share a recent article from Corvette magazine written on the benefits of upgrading your C5/C6 suspension to coilovers. There are some great points in here that dispel the myth that coilovers are for race cars only. Johnny O'Connell has pointed out that "When we improve cars, it doesn't mean you have to be a racecar driver, it actually means the opposite. It makes the car easier to drive." This is precisely the objective when we sit down to engineer a product for the Corvette chassis.
Part of being a forum sponsor is being able to get information out to as many people as possible so they can learn about what product upgrades will do for their vehicle. It would be silly just to post this in one section, as people of all different interest levels will be curious about this article.
The pages are 900k, which is VERY small considering a color page with high enough resolution to read the print. Any smaller, and people would not be able to read the text. I suggest using a browser that resizes images for you if they are too large dimensionally for your computer screen. It may even be a setting in your preferences.
We are very courteous, just ask around. Next time if you have an issue with something we post, please just PM us.

Im actually on the fence about going with coilovers or not and I feel I gained a little more insight on the conversion. I appreciate the post. Might be a good time for vettegirl to update the dial-up connection. Just kidding

i just do not like you posting the same exact info in multiple threads.
do not see the point in it.
just seems this forum sponsor thing is getting out of control.
one more thing, i will never buy from you.
oh, i have very fast internet service, thank you very much.
you need to calm down. If you were a courteous person, then YOU would have sent a pm rather than looking like a complete idiot.
oh and one more thing, internet service has nothing to do with resizing images to your computer screens resolution, i suggest you get a different web browser
Ok, lets all get along. Getting mad isnt gonna solve anything. The article was very informative, and I thank you for posting it. As for posting it everywhere, it doesnt realy matter, you just dont have to read it everywhere.
It may be their right to post... but the first thing I thought was... "How much did Pfadt pay for that?" Ultimately, I think it would have had more value if it didn't mention a brand.
Thanks for the info. I've been reading about owners switching over to coilovers and since my vert is a beauty queen vs. a track queen, I was wondering if it was worth the effort for street driving...

Very true about the Coil over install. I experienced the very same when I installed my coil overs this spring. I was shocked at how improved the car felt in every aspect !
Key points I read:
1.) It makes the car easier to drive, and easier to drive faster. I agree 100%.
2.) There are some great points in here that dispel the myth that coilovers are for race cars only. I agree totally. I don't race my car but wow did it ever drive better, and soak up the bumps so much better than before.
3.) Ride Quality is improved, not worsened. I agree 100%.
I also noticed that steering feel is much improved, and the car turns much easier now. Hard to describe, but I noticed it immediately !
Good post thank you !
Toque
PS.... There are some haters on here with just about everything. Don't may any attention to it... Its sad but there is always one in a bunch...
Thanks for all of the comments guys! We appreciate it. I really thought it was a great article because it hit the nail on the head.

Fortunately, we didn't pay a single cent for any of this. The magazine was sent to us, as this article was completely unsolicited. We would have posted it a long time ago if we knew about it.
Thanks though!
If you guys haven't seen we released a video today announcing our Johnny O'Connell suspension line. I bring it up because it echos the article quite well, and explains that upgrading is a process that doesn't just result in products that perform well and add harsh ride, its quite the opposite, it creates a more manageable street and track driving experience.
thanks for posting...
most of us appreciate input like this.
my coilover conversion is coming in a couple months!!
I'm on aftermarket bolts and bottom out my Bilstein shocks on rare occasions. def looking forward to this upgrade
Was part of my entire suspension upgrade on my since deceased C5. I liked that for the mile or aggressive driving I firmed up the shocks and for my normal most of the time driving I softened them up. Oh my Vette was easier to drive and I am considering them for the daily driver our C6

Thanks for posting an article like this - some great info contained in it. Since I don't visit every section of the forum, I appreciate it being posted in multiple places.
Your'e a trolling douche... Take your negetivity elsewhere.... Don't pay this person any mind Aaron... I am running the PFADT's on my C5Z and have never encountered a problem with the them.. A perfect upgrade to any C5,6 IMO...
Get a life imavettegirl....
