Hi all, getting ready to put my Vette away for the winter and would like some opinions on Stabil or some other additive to use to keep my gas fresh, thanks in advance
Stabil works well, I personally like to use SeaFoam when I store my 65 Buick GS for the summer. After sitting in the garage for 3 months, I dug it out last weekend and it fired up after about 10 seconds and it ran great. As to my Vette, I get to use it year round here.
I keep mine running year round - in winter nice days going for a drive is priceless ... with the top down & the heat on.
& I use stabil just the same ...
I think it's better to drive it once a month or more than to put it to sleep - just my choice ...
same with my Harley FLTRSE3 & John Deere ...
It's always better to keep the motor active in some way. But you really don't need 'Stabil' the gas you get from the pump is good for about a year on it's own. There was a great three part series in Corvette Enthusiast by a auto writer named Hib Halerson who I believe is pretty close to a Corvette expert. I keep mine in the garage from December to April so I'm not operating in the salt and snow crap. Got a trusty DD for that.

I use a bottle of Sta-Bil every winter in mine - the car sits from sometime in November to around the first couple of weeks in March and the Sta-Bil keeps everything fresh.
