Default Service active handling code?

Hey guys for like the last month my car has been putting up a code. The code comes up as SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING.I was wondering has any one else had this code come up?If so what is it. Should i be worried about it.

Here is the place to start reading.

First read the stored codes exactly as they show. Write them down, noting whether a code is H or C

Then clear all codes and go for a drive. When you get home. Repeat the code reading and note taking.

Then post the results to this thread.

FYI. Many codes that get set reflect transitory commo issues that don't recur.

Not necessarily the BCM. It could also be the steering position sensor which will throw a ABS AH light on also. You need the code to determine that.

I have had that come up twice on my DIC. Both times I floored it to make sure the active handling worked (which it did) and the message went away.

When that message is visible active handling is turned off. You still have traction control and ABS but AH is off. So how did you know that AH worked? Just flooring the throttle doesn't mean AH will activate even if it is turned on. To activate AH you have to throw the car into a corner so it is under or over steering by a certain amount. When the right conditions are met it will activate the brake at one of the 4 wheels.

Im wondering if theirs a sensor out or lose.I wonder if changing the wheel size or tire pressure could cause this?It was throwing the code before i changed the rims.I just have no idea.

Hmmm I don't know what was going on with my car then as the TC was on both times and each time the backend stepped out the message went away. Might be a glitch? I'm going to the road course Friday so I'll have to try a lap or two in comp mode to see if the AH works.

In post #2 of this thread I provide a link to the procedure for pulling codes and wrote the steps you then need to follow before putting the car on a race track.

Good luck. Let us know what you find.
