Default always on power?

I am connecting a XM system to my car. The installation manual states I have to connect to a "Terminal always supplied with power regardless of ignition position". Where is the best place to hook this up in the passanger footwell? Posting in General as I have the car apart and need to resolve this before I can finish

the obvious answer is to run a lead directly to the positive side of the battery. that said, i believe the brown wire attached to the ignition switch is always hot. i'm sure someone will verify that for you. in addition, you can use a meter to check some of the electrical connections that are close to the radio area, plus as i would suspect, you are locating the XM module somewhere else ( i located the sirius module in the upper passenger side kick panel. there is plenty of room there, and the wires can be run easily to the center tower area. in addition should you choose, you can get power from the fuse box located under the panel in the front passenger floor area. personally i don't like using that area because it could be subject to getting wet if your a/c backs up or if you use the car in the winter in a snowy environment and people get in and out with snow on their feet in that area. admittedly it would take a lot, but why chance it.
