Default Problem With a Business Called Adaptive Performance

I ordered a skip shift eliminator (for our 2005 CTS-V but they also advertise an eliminator for the C5 T56 Manual skip shift eliminator) early this month (From Adaptive Performance in Surprise Arizona) and they advertised next day shipping. Well 2 weeks later nothing, they won't answer their emails and their phone is busy 24 hours a day. Very possibly a scam. They are also still on ebay (I did not order through Ebay) so Buyer beware. Thought the members would like to know.

I did not find them in the Vendors listing so I am assuming that you found them with Google or another search engine. Thanks for the heads up, but I strictly use forum vendors for the exact reason. If you have an issue, you can normally get it resolved here.

Here's their rating with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU...

http://ourbbbproxy.bbb.org/phoenix/b...az-1000009307/

They rate an "F" due to complaints of failure to deliver and selling practices. They never responded to the previous complaints. Chances are they're out of business anyway.

If I were you, I'd file another complaint against them using the online form. The BBB has no statutory authority to do anything, but acts as an intermediary to resolve disputes. It probably won't help you, but if the next customer bothers to research them, it might alert them to the potential problem.

Depending on how you made payment, you may have some recourse and be able to get your funds returned.

Then use one of the site supporting vendors like MID AMERICA, ZIP PRODUCTS, etc. I got mine from CORVETTES OF HOUSTON.

If you do a GOOGLE search using "adaptive performance" as keywords, you'll find other sites with commentary about the company.

I agree, use forum supported vendors, you won't run into this problem, or at least is a forum for resolution. good luck, lucky it was a lower dollar item, so you're not to hurt, cash wise.

There's a member and or/vendor from Surprise Arizona- maybe they can get by the location to see what's up.

if you paid for your purchase with a credit card, contact them at once and file a fraud complaint.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but at least you didn't spend 4-500 bucks with them, that would really hurt....
Everything I've bought for my Vette came from Forum Vendors, never been dissapointed.

This is a bit perplexing!! I was referred to them a few years ago,,got GREAT service from them.Got a CAGS eliminator and a CLB.Got my stuff in about 4 days. Referred a few others in my club,,same results!! Now for about the past year or so,,I have seen a few threads with the same message,,seems average delivery is about 3-4 weeks!!Sounds like they went from a business with staff to a garage, mom and pop part time business that can't come close to keeping up with up with orders,,and may have to order product as they get orders instead of stocking inventory!!

That's too bad. I ordered a CLB from them last year and received it within a week. It was well made and is working without a hitch.
