HID's work just fine on C5's. I installed the HID's in my Z when I bought the car 2.5 years ago. I used them for six years on my previous car, and moved them over to the Vette since they use the same bulb.

There are some people who have had to change the headlight fuse from 10 amps to 15 amps. HID's draw less current once they're on, but startup does require a decent amount of power. Hence, when you try to turn them on, it tries to draw more current than the fuse can handle. Try a 15 amp fuse, but no more than 15. I, myself, did not have to change fuses.

Check the polarity. It may be reversed. With the HID I installed in my car I had to reverse the polarity before installation.

Same here. I just pluged it in reverse of how it looks like it goes.

More than likely this is the fix.

We used to send them like that and included a note in the directions to do so. Now they have connectors for the 9006 that go in both ways. If they don't send those I take the spade plugs out and include the connector for the customer to match up

What brand did you get? I just installed a set yesterday on my car for my fog lights that had blue and black as the connecting wires. It was a straight forward plug and play system, no splicing of wires. If you have this type, blue is the positive and obvious black is the negative. Another rule to remember is that the socket/harness, the right pinhole is always the positive, left negative.

Here is the connection that came with my kit. You can see from the pic when it is plugged into itself the wires are crossed reversing polarity. I didn't want the extra connection so I removed the spade connections and reversed them as stated earlier by JW.

If the connector in the pic looks like something you need. I will send it to you if the postage isn't too high. I'm a tightwad.

Monday. You pretty much have to get on my list to get a set. They're really popular.

You can swap the spade locations in the factory connector to reverse the polarity. Helps to have a "weather pack extractor tool" ($4-8 from Amazon, your local auto parts store might have them too) although a small screwdriver or paper clip might do the trick. Cleaner and more secure than plugging them in backwards and taping them.

I know the thread's two years old... But better late than never....
