I am moving to Tucson in early Nov. I will not be bringing my vette at first as I am having some mods completed in Denver and will be returning to trailer it down in a couple months. I was wanting any Corvette/Car club info and also any info on any regular car cruises... THANKS

Bunch of az clubs etc.
My fav to hang with is A.C.E. or Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts, good peeps who like to have a good time.
Here is another large annual Corvette event held in Tombstone, Arizona about 80 miles from Tucson every October. I was there a couple of weeks ago and I go every year. There will be hundreds of Vettes from all over the Southwest there.
Next year it will be held on October 5-6-7-8-9, 2011:
Arizona drivers are the worst in the country! just sayin!.
You might want to look at this link from a recent ABC News article that ranked the states with the best to the worst and the higher the number the worse the driver's are.
Arizona ranked 17th
California ranked almost the worst at 48th with only New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. having worse drivers than California.

I don't know if I would agree with that. I don't think you can fully judge a driver based on a written test. People may know the rules of the road (though around here they seem perfectly oblivious) but that doesn't mean they actually abide by them. People may know the rules, but that doesn't mean they can execute them behind the wheel of a car, or that they are capable of making decisions or have the reflexes or skills that could keep an accident from happening or save a life in certain situations.
Good luck with the move, though... I've never been to Arizona though I hear nothing but good things!
I've been in AZ since 1957 before there were even freeways. I've lived and worked around many areas of the state. I've seen the influx of drivers (and snowbirds) from other states, many bringing their poor driving habits with them. And I've investigated their traffic collisions.
I don't disagree that AZ has some of the worst drivers. Everyone's in a big hurry to get to the next stop light or the next stop sign. Slow down, pay attention and enjoy the scenery. Tucson has some of the best scenery in the state.
Make sure you take the winding road up Mount Lemmon in the Santa Catalina Mountains located in the Coronado National Forest. It's just over 9,000 ft. A great drive at any time, but especially to escape the summer heat. We've been up there in June and still found patches of snow.

I took this photo of my Vette in the parking lot of the Mt Lemmon ski area Just a few minutes from the North edge of Tucson during the annual Corvette run to Mt Lemmon this last July. It was in the low 70's up there and was very enjoyable ride with the top down!

imo, people suck equally, everywhere. But that's not the topic at hand.
I'm glad this came up, i'm planning on moving near Pheonix next year! It's awesome seeing so much good stuff happening down there. I'm really looking forward to the Tombstone event now. That is one i've gotta see!

You're going to love it and the really nice thing Corvette driving weather and events go on all year around!
No more putting the Vette away for a few months every year because of the weather. It is 80 and sunny here in Tucson today.
This link is to a bunch of photos from a couple of weeks ago at the Tombstone get together:
