Rear view camera (how do you wire)
I can't seem to get my rear view camera to work. How do you wire these things up? Should it just be the one RCA from the camera to the radio and then the reverse signal wire from the radio to the back up light? Thanks in advance for any help

My camera setup required four wires to install. The camera has a power wire hooked up to the backup lights and a ground wire. The head unit also has two wires, an RCA cable that carries the video from the camera to the head unit and a purple and white reverse gear cord, that tells the radio the vehicle is in reverse and to switch to the camera. I ran this wire to the backup lights as well. When my head unit gets a 12V signal on this wire, it switches to the backup camera input. Initially, I hooked this wire up to the ground side of the backup light, not the power side and my camera didn't work. When I changed it to the power side my camera worked. This could be your problem.
