Default Possible new owner !

Good morning everyone. I am looking into purchasing a 2002 coupe. In looking over the car, I noticed that the Targa glass section has what looks to be worn glazing on the surface of the top. My question is as follows: Can this condition be corrected or will it be necessary for me to replace the Targa glass top altogether? Would appreciate any and all replies - thanks in advance for the help. Safe motoring, Charlie

This section is for forum problems/questions.

Repost this in C5 general and you will get plenty of replies. Disregard the obvious wise guy answers!

You had posted your question in the Help section, which is used for Help with the website itself (forum issues, account issues, website issues, etc.).

You will receive a better response if you post Corvette technical questions in the appropriate Corvette section. In your case, you would want the C5 section.

I've moved your thread to the appropriate Corvette section.

Good luck!

I would think you would need to replace the top. Approximately $ 500 for a new aftermarket one.

There is no need to replace the top. You can sand down the top and re-clear coat it and it will be almost as good as new. Or if you do not want to try that yourself you can take it to a body/paint shop and they will sand it down and respray it for you.
Here is a link on how to do it

That is a well known age old problem with those tops. There are guys that have been able to recondition the lexan top. Try the search function and you'll find lots of info on that problem.
