Default Putting her away...quick question

Hey guys,
This is most likely the last week for my girl before I put her away for the winter. I've read some of the threads on storage and was just wondering, do some of you guys just start her up 2-3 times a week instead of a battery tender? Would this keep everything working like it should? Is this not a good choice?
I'm keeping her in my garage and not some remote storage area so it's not far from my back door.

Use the battery tender and wait until spring to start it.

I don't believe just starting it up for a short time is a good idea. If you start it you need to drive it for 20 min. or so to get all the fluids warmed up. Suggest using a good battery tender like the Ctek 3300. Drive it when the streets, road are dry & enjoy it when you can!

I'm putting mine away this afternoon and it will be in storage until the second or third week in April. I never start mine and do nothing more than disconnect the negative battery terminal. It has fired right up the first time every year for the past 8 years.

Can't wear out if it's not running. Starting it every so often is hard on the engine and related systems. Get a Ctek float charger and look it over in the spring.

I hope I don't hijack but I wanted to ask since we are on the subject. I'm putting my car in a storage facility where there's no power. Should I take my battery out and bring it home to put on a tender for the winter? Also, I unhooked my battery completely when I installed my vararam and three hours later after I hooked it back up I still had all my radio stations and seat memories programed. Is there another source of power that i'm missing? And is it something that we should worry about disconnecting for the winter also?

Yes, take the battery out and keep it at home on a tender. This is my 2nd winter with my vette and that's what I do. I don't know the exact answer to your question about the radio/seats, but my car is the same after I re-install the battery in the spring. I'm guessing there is some amount of static ROM memory in the car's computer that keeps these settings even after power is removed? In any event, take that battery out and keep it at home with you!

Do a battery tender or unhook the battery, starting it ever few weeks is worse for it unless you intend to actually drive it and get it up to operating temp (ie not let it idle in driveway)

I would use a battery tender rather than just starting it up and letting it run for a few minutes. If you are not going to use a battery tender, you would need to drive it for a while and get everything up to temp.
