a '75 done right can look and drive pretty awesome. In my opinion, that involves a couple hundred more horsies and side pipes.

I dunno... the grass is always greener...

68-72 would be hard for me to give up, but I would rather have a 01-up than a 75 Vette. IMHO

Of course, I'd really rather have a 63 or 68 with an LSX engine and dual 4-barrel set-up and monster side pipes blow skirts up on girls standing on the sidewalk

I have BOTH, but I'm really liking my C-3 more and more these days, since I have found so many issues with the C-5 that in the years to come, will be even more serious as more and more parts are unavailable. Just my 2 cents

I have had a C2, C3, C4 and now the C5. If I had to pick just one it would have to be the C2. I would never go back to my C3. I will admit I did some thinking a few months ago about selling my C5 to buy a C3 Chrome Bumper Big Block car, but desided to keep the C5. That group of C3's would be the only way I would go. My C3 was a '77.

Sold my 69' vert for the 01' - drive a c5 then decide. The C3 has only 1 thing going for it, LOOKS.

I kind of miss the "ruggedness" of my C3 but I don't think I'd go back after actually having AC and stereo that work all the time in my C5 and just a lot more comfort. In addition I remember with no O/D it was darn noisy cruisin at 70-75 MPH.

Must be my age.......

my brother in law has a C3 - 70 / 4 spd 350/350 and wants a C5,

the ride of a C5 is 1st rate compared to the older cars

the 6 speed (to me) is actually a 4 speed (just like back in the day) plus 2 over drives which I think is perfect !

The body of the C5 - the lines are timeless, like the 63-67, if you ask me, and others here.

The C5 drive trane is one of the best built by anyone

the prices of C5's are the best deal in town

so I'm prejudice ... (I guess I got a good one, like 99% of the people on this site)

C5 - USA #1

C5 - It just looks RIGHT

Thats a nice looking C3, it has character. But it's really apples and Oranges.
Chances are the C3 is already paid off and very cheap to own. if you can afford it, get both. then go retrieve your ***** from jar behind the refrigerator

C3's look great and are great arm out the window day drivers, C5's make great all round drivers. My 04 C5 is my DD has over 140K on it and still drives like new.

Actually, my wife likes the 79 C3 better than the C5. She says it's mor of a real Corvette. She has commented that, the C5 is nice, but it rides and drives like our Lincoln MkS.. She likes the looks, the sound and the ride of the C3.. Im just glad she is happy with either one!
If "she" had to choose, we would still have the 1980 we sold a few years back. I have assured her the 79 I just picked up will be even more of a mussel car once I finish with it! By the way, we are both in out 50's!

We have an '81 and an '04.

If you can have just one, the C5 is the way to go.

I love driving the '81, and it's COOL to drive a 'Vette of that vintage.

My wife was driving the '81 today when a guy pulled up beside her and mouthed and pointed..."COOL car".

But.....it's more work to keep on the road (obviously) than the '04. Trips of any significant length we prefer driving the C5.

Really....can't go wrong either way, if you're willing to do the work that the C3 will require.

If you haven't driven a C5, you need to, to be able to compare.
