Default Help-Trunk CD changer problem

WHEN YOU PUSH THE DASH CD BUTTON NOTHING HAPPENS.
iF YOU OPEN THE SLIDE DOOR ON THE TRUNK CD UNIT, YOU CAN HEAR THE UNIT GO THRU DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS AND THE HOLDER WILL MOVE UP TO REMOVE THE DISC STORAGE HOLDER.

ANY SUGESTIONS?

THANKS

BRUCE

Mine just died the same way-took it apart and got the CD's out but it's insane-I found a replacement in the For Sale section.

We can hear you. Turn off the caps.

It's not an instantaneous process. Be patient. When you push the button on the radio head to use the CD changer, you should hear the changer cycling through. It takes a few seconds. The icon on the head unit should flash while it's cycling. When the unit is ready to play a CD, the icon will stop flashing, the cycling will stop. If I remember correctly, opening the sliding door does normally cause the unit to cycle and eject the cartridge.

If you chose to use burned CDs, that might cause an "err". They work for some owners, not for others. It apparently has to do with the speed they're copied and/or the manufacturer of CDs being used. And don't make the mistake I did by not inserting the CDs correctly oriented into the cartridge.

For what it's worth, C5 past threads seldom get deleted from the archives. You can find anything technical ever asked/answered with the right keywords.

In C5 Tech, use search or search this forum, which is my favorite manner of search (in the red banner). Use keywords "cd changer operation" or similar and see what you find.
