JMO,,I agree with the 3:42's,,But not a fan of real loose converters for regular street duty!!Extra heat build up in city stop and go,,and not easy to make smooth "graceful" exits with the extra"flair" from the converter!! My mind is blanking right now,,but there is a member here that found a part number for a Chevy light truck converter that his shop discovered,,that gave 200-300 extra RPM and would "flash" a little higher when "torqued up". Really perked things up,,with out loosing street manners!! As stated,,JMO!! You need to evaluate whether or not you want to have a car that sounds like you are being kind of frisky EVERY time you leave from a stop!!

I totally agree with these comments. Gears yes, converter is a big maybe. The gears will really wake up your acceleration and if you don't go crazy will still allow decent gas economy without draining your wallet. The converter will definetely make your trans run hotter. It also makes your trans feel looser in low speed driving. I put one in my street rod and wish I didn't. In just mild acceleration it will wind up a little higher before connecting and will break the tires loose even when I don't want to. First time I drove it and got on it mildly at a light, I heard someone squealing their tires. My reaction was what a-hole was burning out until I realized it was me. It's a fine light to pull away briskly without burning rubber. Also, maybe because of the stall I have, but at a steady cruise speed when you want to just accelerate mildly it feels loose like there is a delay before the driveline connects.
