Default C5Z06 driver side window problem

On the way home from the gym the driver side widow won't move. The passenger side works fine from the driver swide switches. The driver side switch dims but nothing happens. Anybody have an idea what's went out on me? It doesn't even try to roll down. It's like the switch or something is dead.

Are all your door controls not working? Take a look at the electrical connection inside the door hinge. You can jiggle the accordion cover to see if the controls come back.

Remove the accordion cover, fish the connection from the body, and look at the wires feeding into the connection. One of the wires typically becomes exposed. Use some electrical tape or liquid electrical tape to isolate/cover the wire. It will sometimes cause you to get TCS and ABS warnings on the DIC too.

Other controls work. Even the passenger window switch. I hit the driver window switch and nothing happens but lights dim. I'm affraid the window motor might be out but I haven't had any problems with it at all. Worked fine up till today. Usually only drive the car 2 to 3 times a week.

Sounds like you have a faulty relay in your door control module. This is charachterized by a clicking noise when you try to use the switch.

The door control module is the small black box next to your speakers inside the door panel. It's held on with 3 small bolts.

The relay can be replaced with the proper tools. I can do this for you for $60 with return shipping. (only takes me about an hour)

Weird, you hexed me - just happended to me today. I remember reading and performing some trick I read here about smacking a screwdriver with a hammer near the actuator (?) or something when it happended on my last C5. I'll look for it tonight.

The again Radio Flyer's reply above sounds like the way to go.
