I have to take my car in soon for a smog inspection here in Calif. I have recently added a Vararam and Power Duct to the car. I'd like to make the car look as stock as possible for the test. To that end, I have removed the Vararam decal from the Vararam itself, but can't remove the Vararam logo from the Power Duct. It appears to be laminated over and has no edges that I can find in order to peel it off. Anyway, I have been looking for a Corvette logo decal with a black background to place over it, but so far, I haven't been able to find one. Anyone know of a source for such a decal? Anyone removed the logo from their Power Duct? if so, how?
I'm in Cali too and just went through a smog check. I'm running a Halltech cold air intake. I use this time, every 2 years, to remove and service the filter. For the inspection I throw the stock system back on. After the test I reinstall my Halltech CAI and I'm good for 2 more years.
FYI......
This year I went to a cheapie test only station. It was in a rough part of town. The Vette was out of place compared to the rest of the cars there. The guy spent a LOT of time on the visual. Way more than I've ever seen. It was as if he thought I was trying to slip something through. When I've gone to the more main stream "expensive" stations it seems they hardly give it a look.
I have the stock intake duct and can put it back for the test. That was my fall back option, but I was just hoping to hide the identity of the Vararam Power Duct. Not practical to remove the Vararam and put stock intake back, although I have all of the parts. Car is not a California car, if that matters. I bought it in kentucky when I lived there, but it has been in California for the last 8 years.
