Default RPS clutch release...

I just had an RPS twin carbon clutch installed in my 02 and i noticed right away that now the clutch engage/disengage point is higher...a lot higher!! would the tick adjustable master cylinder solve this problem for me? anyone else notice that with their RPS clutch?

I am by no way an expert on this, but I believe that when the clutch engages high on the pedal it tells me that the geometry is a little off. I believe that's because the throw out bearing is engaging the pressure plate in a shorter distance than stock. Years ago we just adjusted the clutch rod to fix that, but now we don't have that adjustment. Even on a non hydraulic clutch guys always had to be concerned about the thickness of the throw out bearing to keep everything right. I'm not sure what the fix is for you. Maybe someone will chime in.

You say"a lot higher" for your engagement point. I have the same clutch, and it engages about half way up the travel, maybe about an inch or so higher than stock. I have the Tick, and haven't adjusted it yet, but it's no big deal the way it is. After I get around to adjusting the rod, I'll report back on the results. I need to add... I also exchanged the stock TO bearing for a Centerforce one, but it looked about the same.

I tell ya, I was so happy to get the thing installed (did the clutch at the same time) that I didn't want to mess around any more. I'm rather big, and the contortions (sp?) needed to get everything back together almost got the better of me. My son in law finally got the last two nuts installed before I stroked out. Anyway, it's not that annoying the way it is now, but when I have time it'll get done. Tip for anyone doing this install; it may be easier to remove the driver's seat before attempting this job.
