[Z06] New Ride 2003 Z06
Flew to Sacramento and met Nick at the airport and drove it home. Wish I could say the drive was uneventful, but I had 2 incidences on the way back.
1) Nevada desert highway (I80) late at night. I hit a road gator, laying on its side, doing just under 80, speed limit was 75. I took out the front center air dam, bent the skid cage center arm, slightly scratched the nose paint, and tore up the the driver side fender lower mounts behind the wheel. I pulled over at the next rest stop and rigged the air dam to kept diverting air up to the radiator. Never had any issues with temps, so I kept driving.
2) Utah, middle of freakin' nowhere, a dude in a full side Ford crew cab, covered with mud-rocks on his lower half, drops a rock and it bounces up and make a perfect arch right into the windshield, lower center area, but out of the path of vision. Had that fixed with the resin injection already. Looks real good, but I can slightly see a small star in the light. Not enough for me to cry about.
Next 1500 miles to Mpls go uneventful and the car performed flawlessly. Love the new to me Z06.

i also know how much it killed him to have to sell it.
but if i know Nik, he'll be back into another z0 (maybe c6) soon enough.
congrats on the purchase of a great car.
no mention of what you paid for it, but considering the shape it was in (prior to aforementioned "events"), i'd venture to say you got a great car at a great price.
enjoy and here's your wave

peace,

Main outlet fuel pump-filter are both internal to the tank. Its a slightly different than the earlier systems with external filter-regulator, and probably a huge PITA maintenance wise. Same as used on the C6. Better keep it above 1/4 tank for max fuel pump life.

Vehicle history report shows the right fuel tank was replaced during the warranty time frame, I assume for a leak.

That’s a real beauty of a Zo6
