This was posted on facebook by the wife of a close friend of mine. He is a retired Army Sergeant First Class, who served as a convoy commander in Baghdad. He was a damn fine soldier and it was an honor to have
served in Iraq with him.
His wife is an Iraqi national and they now live in North Carolina. Her quote hit me right between they eyes, and after reading her words I challenge anyone to prove to me that we didn't make a difference in Iraq:
"As November 11th approaches, a soldier, somewhere in the world tonight, is missing their family while we are safe at home. In the minute it takes to read this, military members all over the world are not only saving lives, but they are also sacrificing their own lives for our freedom."

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." - widely attributed to George Orwell.
Eternal thanks to all those men and women who volunteer to keep me, my family, and this great country safe from those that would do us harm.
From a Nam vet(11/68-69) to all !! Warms my heart to see the American attitude for all who are serving and have served!! I am grateful for,,and proud of all the fine VOLUNTEER service people!! It takes some stand up people to serve today since the volunteer!! I was DRAFTED back then,,and the country wasn't very supportive then!! I TRULY love that the people today support our fine people now!! To those that are serving AND for the good people that support them!!
